Stringer's Folly →

It seems to all come down to Stringer's inability to close up loose ends. It's almost like a broad extension of Tuco's Advice over the series of seasons 2 and 3. He was able to pull the trigger once, but he didn't clean house and thus never took full power.

His other flaw is one of youth. He thought by taking a different route (business vs. violence) he could turn dirty work into legitimate success. His greatest weakness was this confidence that he could in fact change "the game". His problem was he was playing by his own rules while no one else was.
