Dave Winer: What Worked for HBO Wont Work for News →

I disagree with John and Dave in the sense that News and HBO do the same things. They tell stories and they provide entertainment. Watching Fox News or CNN will show you that there are very real storylines, plot twists, and good (or bad) endings. HBO makes them up, but CNN like an editor who picks from thousands that are already written.
