2015 Recap

2015 was a huge year for my family and I. I'm on my 8th year of review (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014). This year had more change than any year before it, which is hard to believe because the last few years have been full of change.

  • Ander was born

I could just stop here, as this was the biggest change I've ever experienced. I've been so happy to raise our little boy, and he seems to be very happy growing up with us. I expected life would change, but it was hard to really know how much of an impact he has on our lives. We are so lucky to have a happy, healthy baby boy, and have enjoyed every minute of time with him, even the crying and the diapers.

  • We bought a house

We knew going in to expect the unexpected with the house buying experience, and we still weren't prepared. Things were mostly smooth, and we were lucky to get to move to a much larger corner lot and get to pick the color scheme we wanted. There were some issues with construction and delays to the closing process, about 7 weeks in total. These were stressful times, living out of a bag with a baby during my busy season at work, but we made it through with lots of help from family. Now we are happy and comfortable in our new home, with a beautiful nursery for Ander.

  • I gained some weight

With the baby coming, I made a promise to outgain Meg, and while I exceeded that challenge, I haven't had much success at moving back down the scale. Between the moving around and getting settled, we haven't had much time to focus on a healthy diet, so this will be part of my goals for next year.

I guessed last year I'd have much more on the exercise front, but I only hit about 640 of the 1,200 miles I predicted. I knew about the home and the baby, so while the big items weren't a huge surprise, there has been so much to learn in between. While work didn't make my big 3 this year, I am very proud of the work our team did and the successes we've had, and I couldn't have a better job.

2015 was an amazing year, one I will never forget.
