Great deal on some $400 netbooks…

Acer Aspire One – 6-cell battery and 8.9″ screen

HP 2133 – Big discount, great resolution (1280×768), and good keyboard

The HP may be due to their rumored 1000, of which no details are available. Dell’s newest netbook, the Mini 12, is coming soon and aims for the discount air crowd.

The more portable laptop hunt…

Over the past month I have been tracking a few different netbooks. The MSI Wind, ASUS 1000H, and the Acer Aspire One. After considering both price and availability, I picked up a 1000H. Things were going pretty well, but there were little nuances that the macbook did well that the 1000H did not. Touchpad scrolling is important. This was not a strength of the 1000H. There were also some things that I was just hooked to on OS X. So, the 1000H went back, and my test with netbooks was over.

I am loving Plex

If you have a mac, and you are into watching lots of media, you need to check out Plex. It is awesome. The new one features a new view which has better library features, and just looks plain amazing. Movies, TV Shows, Music… all look great. Plots, movie posters, episode names… all done automatically. You could drop this thing in an old xbox if you don’t have a mac and it works about the same. It makes looking through my movies almost as exciting as watching them.

Widgets

I got some widgets on the desktop now.They are pretty cool.I made the pusher create a keyboard shortcut to create my blog posts.It should work out better than before.I’m not sure what wasn’t working before, but I figure the easier I make things, the better.Anyways, I’m out for the night.
