The Fat Little Girlfriend Site

It all started with an email. My Dad sent me to a link to a story about Coach Mike Leach and his ideas on why the Red Raiders lost 52-30 to the Aggies. He mentioned that http://fatlittlegirlfriend.com was not taken so I grabbed it around 9:30 am. I took a clip of the interview and trimmed it down to about 10 seconds, just enough to get the part about the Fat Little Girlfriends and I put it up on YouTube, then I embedded the video and set it to auto-play and loop. I looped it not to get stats, but just so it would play over and over and over.

Picking First in Fantasy Football

I had my fantasy football draft last night at David’s house. Somehow I ended up with the first pick. This is wonderful in the sense that I get Adrian Peterson, who is the best player in the league. The downside to first pick is that there isn’t much value drafting.

Congrats to Florida…

Now, I am not one to say I told you so, but I had a pretty good hunch that the Gators were going all the way. A big part of this game was defense and turnovers, and Florida came up big. If Oklahoma didn’t have two empty trips to the red-zone, things might have been different. Along with that, the two picks that Bradford threw were tips, and not really his fault. The defense made those happen, where as Tebows picks were more his fault.

Teams who have a legit claim to CFB #1

Florida, Oklahoma, USC, and Utah.

Those four, which will be three on Friday, have a real claim. Let’s break it down by team, and go ahead and mention the Longhorns who don’t have a claim.

The face of defeat…

In honor of the Florida-Alabama game today, I think it is worth taking a look back at Tim Tebow’s post game interview after the 1-point loss to Ole Miss. Florida was off their game, committing turnovers, not producing on offense, and lost the game on a 4th-and-1 that Tebow and the team (almost) always convert on.

Bit of college football

It is Saturday, and this year’s best game thus far is living up to it’s hype. OU and Texas are having quite a shootout. If I didn’t hate both teams I would like to see this live some time. Maybe I can get seats on the 50 and wear maroon. Anyway, having 3 Big XII schools in the top 5 and Tech moving up fast got me thinking about who is really having a tough schedule this year. I have decided it’s Baylor.

Showmanship

If there is a single thing that Usain Bolt knows better than running really fast it is showmanship. If you missed his gold medal run in the 100m, it was something for the ages. He skidded at the start, he was a showboat in a fashion that is only replicated by Neon Deion, and he won it all in a big way. 2nd – 6th were decided by .08 seconds. 9.89 to 9.97. The photo of this looks like a very close race. Bolt’s time was 9.69 seconds. He won by a full .2 seconds. In 100m terms, that is huge. Just see the picture for yourself. I haven’t actually looked in the record books but this has to be one of the biggest margins ever. But I won’t remember the WR time or really anything aside from his showboating.

More Phil's fault than Lidge

First, let me say this: Brad Lidge has been a sinking ship ever since that fateful 9th inning in game 5 of last years NLCS. Given that, I must place a good majority of the blame for the Astro’s sinking on Phil Garner. Let’s take this afternoon as an example. Bottom of the 6th, 2 outs, man on 1st and 3rd, and we are down by 1. Andy Pettitte is about to step up to the plate. He should be about to sit back down on the bench. PINCH HIT! Not only do you have Morgan Ensberg, Jason Lane, and Adam Everett batting 5-6-7, but you have Ausmus and Pettitte filling out the line-up. You should be so lucky that 2 of those guys even got on base. But instead, you batted Pettitte, who struck out swinging. While Andy did deliver a full game (a loss), you had some arms left. Bad Garner! Very bad Garner! And don’t getting me started on letting Preston Wilson go, while moving Jason Lane back into the line-up. Although I will thank Phil for one thing. I am no longer worrying if the Astro’s are gonna “make it” this year. You might as well let Lidge pitch every 9th from here on out, just to get the work in.
