Jun 08 – Jan 09 (I left due to a tough local economy and a desire to return to Texas)
- Responsible for SAP Application mapping for a large international insurance company
- Managed technical documents including minutes, use cases, and requirements
- Designed a personnel management system using MS Access
I had a wonderful time at Accenture and in New York, but the tough economy didn’t give me the opportunities I wanted, and I’ll admit I was a bit homesick.
Fluor – Project Controls in Houston, TX
May 06 – Feb 08 (worked summers and remotely part-time while at school)
- Developed a web application to schedule meetings and training for new hires
- Created a template to estimate and manage contingency cost on large cost plus risk projects
- Worked with RIB Construction Suite for project estimation to develop useful reports
Non-Profit Work
CARPOOL (Caring Aggies “R” Protecting Over Our Lives)
May 04 – May 08 (I was involved 4 years at different levels of leadership) CARPOOL is a student-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides safe, free rides home in the Bryan/College Station area on weekend nights.
Vice Chair of Operations – 30 hr/wk (May 07 – May 08)
- Continued development of the CARPOOL website by adding social networking and scheduling features
- Facilitated multiple weekly staff and member meetings
- Managed Fundraising, Risk Management, Member Relations, and Finance Directors
- Set records for rides given per year (20,000+) and new member applications (350+)
Director of Member Administration – 30 hr/wk (May 06 – May 07)
- Redesigned and managed the CARPOOL scheduling website
- Lead 12 team leaders and 2 deputy directors who oversaw 300+ members
- Attended weekly director staff and lead weekly executive staff meetings
- Broke both nightly (499) and semester (10,000+) ride records
