The more portable laptop hunt...

Over the past month I have been tracking a few different netbooks. The MSI Wind, ASUS 1000H, and the Acer Aspire One. After considering both price and availability, I picked up a 1000H. Things were going pretty well, but there were little nuances that the macbook did well that the 1000H did not. Touchpad scrolling is important. This was not a strength of the 1000H. There were also some things that I was just hooked to on OS X. So, the 1000H went back, and my test with netbooks was over.

Then, I began searching for used Macbook Airs on ebay. I finally found one for under 1300 shipped including the DVD drive. While I don't ever use my drive, I figured this would increase the resale value. My big question now is if I think the air is worth the $400 or so difference in what I could sell it for on ebay vs my current macbook. I think it might be, but we will see. In light of the rumors of aluminum macbooks being released in mid-October, I am going to have to act fast on these. So, thanks to Time Machine I will be able to get the Air up to speed quickly and then make a decision and sell something before the big day in October.

I will post from the Air after I get it and talk about my likes/dislikes for it.
