Home for the holidays...

I've been in Texas for 5 days now, and it has all been a whirlwind of business. I've had one morning to sleep in, but other than that, I have been keeping busy in the Lone Star State. Between catching up with Meg (who I hadn't seen since Oct.) and catching up with family who I hadn't seen in months, it has been good. As much moving and shaking as I have done, it has been very relaxing.

While I wouldn't necessarily call work "relaxing", their is currently an ease to it that doesn't bother me much. But there is something about the city of New York that can be mellow and stressful all at once. The same can be said for Texas to some degree. I think it has to do with crowds. In NYC this is people-traffic; in Texas it is car-traffic. Both don't overwhelm me (like they do Meg), but I have experienced some traffic in both places. Even still, it is very nice to wake up to an environment where I have nothing to do. This ends soon, and I am doing my best to take advantage while I can.

This makes the holidays a very enjoyable time. It's great to see Meg and I am looking forward to spending some more time with her family. It's also good to catch up with my family and see how everyone is doing.

Christmas has been wonderful as always. I got everything on my list, and even some special surprises I wasn't expecting. On top of it all, it won't be a hassle to bring things back to NYC, so that is great as well. We had a nice family day of relaxing and spending time together. And that is really what the holidays are all about. Spending time with people you love, and not worrying about anything else...
