Changeblogger and people

Today has been a long day. From meeting with a potential future NYC mayor to meeting some other Accenture employees, I was really looking forward to my evening at ChangeBlogger. And I had a great time. Really, it was better than I expected. I got to meet new people, learn more about the non-profit world, and talk to people I had emailed but never met before. I like meeting people IRL that I have met online.

Near the end of the evening when we were all networking I met Amanda from dowsr.com (coming soon) and gave her my mini-story of CARPOOL involvement. She then asked me what cause I had a passion for. I explained that drunk driving is a blind killer and I liked that as a cause. She asked what else and rattled off some common ones. But, I was stumped. I hadn't really gotten into CP because of the cause; I got in to have fun with people. And that's what I did. I had lots of fun. So I told Amanda that the people were my passion. And now, the more I think about it, I like that answer even more.

No matter what passion you are working for, if you are surrounded by fun, competent people, you will no doubt accomplish things and enjoy doing it. Every year on CP staff there were about 6 people I really connected with, trusted, and truly enjoyed getting to know. Hopefully someday we can all reunite and start our own company and all have a blast and retire as millionaires (like in the game of Life). I just need an idea...
