2012 Goals and Guesses

I recapped 2011 and covered some of my successes and failures from 2011. I accomplished a few of my 2011 goals, but I did not get very far with my Happiness Project. With that in mind, I’d like to set more simple goals for 2012.

2011 Happiness Project – January Recap

January is almost over, along with the first stage of my 2011 Happiness project. My goal for the month of January was to get 30 minutes of exercise every day. According to Daytum, which I have been using to track activity, I only exercised on 9 days of the month. Not exactly the total I was hoping for.

2011 Goals and Guesses

I recapped 2010, and now here are the goals and guesses for the new year, 2011. Goals first.

  • Complete a Happiness Project

Meg turned me on to The Happiness Project a couple of months ago and I have been focused on planning one ever since (Meg is too). My main focus will be on 6 areas: Health, Financial, Social, Spiritual, Work, and Play. I will rotate an area of focus each month. January is health, and my goal is to work out for 30 minutes each day. More goals will come throughout the year, but my 2011 goal is to complete the project (and hopefully be happier).

  • Get back in shape

2010 Goals and Guesses

2009 was a great year. I recapped it here, but now I’d like to set up some goals and guesses for the new year.

  1. Do less

Doing less is hard. There are so many interesting things out there that I want to explore. But, in many aspects of my life, I find myself spending lots of time with the same old things. When you dabble, you have to do it cheaply. I’d rather save up and do something really nice and do it a lot so I can become great at it. This goal is from last year, and will continue to be a goal until I hit it.

2009 Goals and Guesses

With so much change happening in 2008, I think things will be different in 09. Here are a few goals.

  1. More stability

There was a lot of change in 2008. I think much of it, combined with other factors, have added to me feeling wrestless and a lack of consistency. If you know me, then you know I create consistencies in my life (like pizza). I would like to reach deeper with some more stability in 2009.

Looking for a challenge

I don’t really get bored. Well, it depends on what you consider being bored. I am at this time and place, I would say that I am unchallenged. I finished some website stuff. I am managing to keep my head above water at work. And in the evenings I spend most of my time playing COD4 (where I do alright) and watching Ed and the Office, which I have seen many times.

Goals for life

I have a couple of life long goals I wanted to get down. First is to receive an honorary doctorate. Why would I want to put in all that wasted time when I can just be a badass and someone will give it to me? Second is to receive the MacArther grant. I know it’s a longshot, but they have to give it to someone. And maybe some day I will have amassed enough skills to be considered an innovator. If changing the world’s aspect on something is the goal, I want to be a part of it. And I think I will.
