1.0 is the loneliest number →

This is especially important to me, right now, considering my current job. Shipping is uncomfortable, even in our web world where we can manipulate bits minutes after something is released. Even though we know we can pull it back, restore, or fix on-the-fly, we still feel a tug to keep polishing.

The urge to tweak is immense. I’ve heard it said that great artists know when a piece of art is finished. Then know when to stop.

Our great trick is to turn tweaking, polishing, and iterating into shipping, shipping, and shipping.

Phil Davison – the new Howard Dean →

Phil did not win the nomination, but I’d argue he did have a victory over quiet public speakers. I hope he goes on to lead people to something other than public speaking.
